There are more and more R&D centers of transnational corporations in China. R&D investment of transnational corporations in China is mainly concentrated in Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou and some other economically developed cities. This paper takes transnational corporations´ R&D investment data in ten regions in China from 2001 to 2008 as panel data, and then makes the empirical research on the factors which affect transnational corporations´ R&D investment in China. The paper indicates that local economic development level, proportion of R&D inputs in local GDP, quality of staff in R&D, local infrastructure construction and preferential policy are all determining factors which attract transnational corporations´ location selection. of R&D investment in China.
