Abstract
Operation of indoor and outdoor localization cannot be combined because the techniques and mechanisms cannot be shared or worked together. Consequently, they are not integrated to support seamless mobility in the application level, e.g., still discontinuity of service when the mobile users move from indoor to outdoor and vice versa. This paper presents the Location Base Protocol (LBP) designed to combine the indoor and outdoor localization technologies to support seamless mobility in the application level. The LBP expressing in the paper includes the location update mechanism, header and payload data, and accuracy verification by simulation. The simulation depicts the interaction between the mobile station (MS) and the server by using the LBP. The result shows that the positions of MS can be tracked accurately while moving from the indoor to outdoor and vice versa.
