Abstract :
A novel algorithm for electromagnetic inverse scattering of multiple perfectly conducting cylinders is presented. The main idea of the inversion algorithm is to cast the inverse problem into a restrained minimization problem and to solve the minimization problem by real-coded genetic algorithm (RGA). Numerical results for both a single cylinder and parallel cylinders are presented. The algorithm exhibits many merits such as strong search ability, simplicity and robustness. On the other hand, the algorithm is very time consuming. Fortunately, this can be improved by parallel computing the fitness values on a parallel computer.
