Abstract
An analysis of bottom acoustic echoes by means of time-frequency representation is presented. The use of a chirped transmitting signal with a large time bandwidth product leads to the implementation of such a representation. The pseudo-Wigner distribution function (PWDF) provides a useful indication of the signal concentration and the spreading over time and frequency, and yields an interpretation of the bottom acoustic behavior
