Abstract
A signal processing algorithm based on the frequency analysis of ultrasonic echoes is tested on a variety of computer generated objects. These objects represent a range of structures ranging from regular arrays of scatterers to more complex distributions. It is apparent from simulations that this proposed algorithm converges rapidly is independent of processing parameters, and can quantize the scatterer distribution. The method is named the envelope correlation spectrum of ECS
