Abstract
The optimization of Clock Distribution Networks (CDN) in VLSI is a problem studied under many constraints and/or parts. in this work, the integrity of the clock signal due to switching noise has been analyzed and compared for the four most used CDNs, and two variations with stage connecting (SC), under the same conditions at requirements and design for comparative purposes. A comparison and guide lines to optimize a variable for each topology and a conclusion for each case are stated. It is found that topology affects critically the CDN´s performance
