  • Abstract
Three-Gorge reservoir faces more water environment issues in non-flood season than in flood season. Increasing discharge by daily regulation can enhance water level fluctuation and flow oscillation and herein reduce the pollution of reservoir area and its branches. The hydrodynamic model of three-Gorge reservoir and its main distributaries is established to simulate hydrodynamic characteristics of the reservoir. The results of simulation show that accelerating fluctuation of water body of the reservoir can control water eutrophication. The influence is especially obvious to the tributaries of Yandu River, Qinggang River and Xiangxi River near the dam site.
