Abstract :
With the growing importance of MIMO systems,there is needed an analysis of the effect of the wireless environment on the systems for making best use of the MIMO systems in the complicated wireless environment. In MIMO systems, the correlation of the channel has an obvious effect on the system, especially on its capacity. The paper derives the close-form expression of the correlation coefficient in microcellular systems, based on the general microcellular model. We account for the effect on the correlation coefficient of the distance between the antenna elements.
