Abstract :
A channelizer configuration for frequency sorting using a purely surface-acoustic-wave (SAW) spectrum analyzer is described. The unique feature of this channelizer is an acoustic Bragg lens consisting of a linearity chirped SAW grating which acts as a deflector and a focusing lens. This integrated acoustic spectrum analyzer is essentially a single-input multiple-output filter bank which has a high dynamic range, preserves the phase information, and is a fully integrated SAW device. It is shown that a 50-dB out-of-band rejection and 20-dB insertion loss with 3-dB uniformity can be attained using standard SAW technologies
