Abstract :
The most valuable resource in wireless communication is spectrum and we are facing a shortage of spectrum to accommodate growing demand of wireless users. Recent studies have shown that allocated spectrum is underutilized. Cognitive radio networks have gained a significant interest because this technology has the ability to alleviate the problem of spectrum underutilization. In this paper, we have studied the cognitive radio networks in terms of throughput for different setting of system parameters. We have also investigated throughput in terms of Probability of Undetectable Primary User Transmission and it has been observed that with the increase in throughput, PUPT also increases.
