Abstract
Two bounded domains are joined at an interface such that the wave traveling from one of them can be transmitted to the other. It is shown that with the presence of viscous damping in each domain in R n, the energy of the system will decay uniformly exponentially. Withdrawing the damping device from either domain results in strong stability of the system in general
