Abstract :
In this paper, a new weighted max-ratio-combining (MRC) selective Rake (SRake) receiver is proposed for a pulse based UWB system with channel estimation errors. Thanks to the prior knowledge of the multipath channel, our new method can further improve the BER performance compared with the conventional MRC Rake receiver. We analyze the new scheme in a theoretical way and the performance improvement is also evaluated in the IEEE 802.15.3a ultra-wideband channel model through computer simulation.
