  • Abstract
HamNoSys is a notation system for writing signs. HamNoSys symbols describe signs in form of signing parameters. Signing parameters include hand shape, hand orientation, hand location and hand movement. This paper presents a system which generates HamNoSys corresponding to the inputted word. For generating HamNoSys, system covers all the symbols for signing parameters. Hand shapes include all the basic hand and finger shapes and their bending. Hand orientation covers all the possible views i.e. top view, back view and right side view along with palm orientations. In hand movements, all the basic movements of hands along with curved movements are covered. Hand location includes details of head, pair locations, mouth, trunk, upper arm, lower arm and lower extremities. This system has been tested on 200 words. Results of system are very encouraging.
