Abstract :
This paper presents the variation of Specific Absorption Rate (SAR) on the head of mobile phone user due to ring, triangle and square metallic object. Several sizes and positions of metallic object are simulated and investigated for SAR characteristics. Generic mobile phone model (known as IEEE mobile phone) and flat Specific Anthropomorphic Mannequin (SAM) model are used for the simulation. The results show that a metallic object can increase or decrease SAR values. Obviously, the maximum SAR can be increased up to 6 times comparing with no object condition by a ring shape object, 4.7 times by a triangle and 5 time by a square object. These outcomes mean that the mobile phone users have possibility to suffer with higher SAR in case of wearing a metallic object, such as earring, while using mobile phone.
