Abstract :
Three kinds of electrochemical methods, electro-flocculation, indirect electro-oxidation and electro-Fenton were examined as pre-treatment processes for fresh dyestuff wastewater with high salinity and non-biodegradable organic concentration. The efficiency of each technique was evaluated according to the reduction levels of COD and toxicity, as well as biodegradability improvement. The results indicate electro-Fenton process as the most efficient pre-treatment for reducing toxicity, improving biodegradability and removing organic pollutants from dyestuff wastewater.
