Abstract :
Due to easy deployment of wireless sensor network at unreachable track, it is achieving a great attention in all fields. Wireless sensor networks composed of little size smart sensor nodes placed at a particular region to sense data and send data being sensed to sink directly or with the help of other sensor nodes. Energy of sensor nodes is very less and hence efficient utilization of energy of sensor nodes is considered as a major component to prolong the network lifetime. We have proposed a distance based deterministic energy efficient clustering protocol which is self-organizing, distributed, dynamic and energy efficient protocol. It selects cluster head on the criteria of residual energy and approximate radius of cluster. Our protocol guarantees uniform and well distributed election of fixed number of cluster head. Simulation implemented in MATLAB reflects better results of our proposed protocol comparable to the existing protocols in heterogeneous environment in terms of stability period and network lifetime.
