Abstract
This study aims to predict the medium-term electricity load demand of Thailand using the generalized estimating equation and the linear mixed effect model. The electricity load demand data for the past 12 years (2001 to 2012) are analyzed. It is found that both the methods yield predictive values approximating actual values. However, a comparison in terms of efficiency demonstrates that the generalized estimating equation is more efficient as it involves a lower mean absolute error and produced predictive values falling within the predicted range at 100%.
