Abstract :
This paper presents the analysis on the effects of overvoltages on ground grids system of high voltage substation by using ATP/EMTP and Maxwell 3D program. A ground grid system of high voltage substation is designed in accordance with IEEE standard 80-2000 [1]. The effects of overvoltages when a fault current occurs and flows into the ground grid system of high voltage substation have been studied. The simulations are made in various cases of different positions, where the overvoltages occur. The simulation results lead to the reliable design of ground grids system of high voltage substation.
