Abstract :
Deployment of wireless sensor network has been increasing tremendously for the last few years due to its wide applicability in various fields ranging from engineering industry to our home environment technology. Wireless Sensor Network involves of low powered and tiny sensor nodes. Network is live as long as the sensor nodes have energy. Efficient utilization of energy of sensor nodes is major factor to be considered to increase network lifetime and stability period. We have proposed a threshold sensitive deterministic energy efficient clustering protocol which is reactive, self-adaptable, and distributive protocol. Cluster heads are being selected depending on residual energy parameter only and data is transmitted only if a parameter to be sensed satisfies hard and soft threshold. We analyze and simulate our protocol in MATLAB for simple temperature sensing application. Our simulation analysis shows better results comparable to existing protocols with respect to stability period and network lifetime in both homogeneous and heterogeneous environment.
