    After careful and considered review of the content of this paper by a duly constituted expert committee, this paper has been found to be in violation of IEEE´s Publication Principles.

    To meet the demands of quality education, this paper deals with the issues related to the professional foundation courses for undergraduate students. Three measures for reforming textbooks were proposed, which are enabling the employment require ment, enriching information content in teaching, and improving operating ability. Several teaching methods, such as question teaching, information-based teaching, case-oriented teaching, open te aching, and bilingual teaching, have been comprehensively adopt ed in the practice of teaching reform. In addition, the test method s have been greatly innovated to provide a comprehensive way for examining the student´s abilities on presenting questions, analyzing questions, applying knowledge, organizing, coordinating, and operating.
