Abstract :
The performance of a simple post-differentiation filter is compared with that of a Nyquist raised-cosine filter with a roll-off factor of one when they are used as equalizers in pin-FET receivers. It is shown that, for a high dispersion optical fiber, the Butterworth filter presents better results than the Nyquist filter for optimum values of its cut-off frequency
