  • Abstract
The explosive growth of the electronic commerce exposes tremendous commercial opportunities over the Web. Customer, vendor and financial institutions are easily connected by the vast computer network. Current research in electronic commerce puts the emphasis on aspects of security. However, because urgent transactions are not applicable to electronic commerce emergencies, transaction processing is still far from efficient. We present several urgent transaction processing methods for electronic commerce. In particular, we propose the two phase locking protocol (2PL) for urgent transactions and the data priority based locking protocol (DP). We discuss the performance of these protocols and show that 2PL is better than DP for electronic commerce
