Abstract :
The paper proposes a new approach to replace electrical interconnects embedded in inhomogeneous dielectrics with simplified equivalent homogeneous transmission lines. The procedure estimates the values of the equivalent per-unit-length parameters via homogenization of physical and geometrical parameters, such as permittivity and conductor inter-distance. The homogenization is carried out by exploiting the properties of an identification algorithm based on the monotonicity properties. A case-study is carried out, highlighting the main features of the method.
