Abstract :
Two dimensional (2-D) adaptive algorithm has been successfully used in a wide range of two dimensional signal processing applications, such as image restoration, 2-D system identification. In a 2-D noise canceller application, the error signal in the LMS algorithm contains the desired signal. Therefore, it misleads the tap coefficients to achieve the unknown system response. This problem is similar to the double-talk problem in the echo canceller system. Recently, the correlation least mean squares (CLMS) algorithm has been proposed to solve the double-talk problem in the echo cancelling system. In this paper, we proposes a two-dimensional (2-D) Extended CLMS algorithm and uses it to solve the abnormal error signal problem in 2-D noise canceller
