  • Abstract
This paper presents two novel speech enhancement techniques. The techniques are based on pre-processing the speech signal prior to transmission. Pre-processing a speech signal prior to transmission allows speech enhancement techniques at the receiver to make better estimates of the noise, thus improving the speech enhancement process. In addition the speech enhancement techniques using pre-processing has been compared with the existing post-processing techniques and the increase in performance was shown to be significant
