Abstract :
This paper presents a family of the PT-based CCM CP-PFC electronic ballasts, which include voltage-source type, current-source type and voltage-source current-source type. By replacing L-C resonant tank and high-voltage transformer in the discrete CCM VS, VSCS CP-PFC electronic ballast with PT, the cost and volume can be reduced. The main drawbacks of the PT-based DC-side DCM CP-PFC electronic ballasts include high di/dt, high current stress and high switching losses. In order to solve these problems causes by the DCM operating, the PT-based bridgeless CCM CP-PFC electronic ballasts are proposed in this research. The experimental results show that the electronic ballasts proposed in this paper not only can achieve high PF and low THD, but also the switches can operate under a inductor-less ZVS condition.
