Abstract
This paper demonstrates the integration of uniform design and Kriging interpolation to the optimization of suspension parameters of a high speed railway vehicle. The critical hunting speed of the vehicle is the optimization function and is evaluated by Lyapunov´s indirect method. The vehicle´s nonlinear coupled differential equations of motion with twenty degrees of freedom are created based on Kalker´s linear theory and the heuristic nonlinear creep model. This paper shows that the integration of uniform design and Kriging interpolation can effectively advance the robustness of critical hunting speed against the noise factor.
