Abstract
The author reviews recent results which can contribute to the solution of the problem of nonnegativity-constrained spectral factorization for image reconstruction from autocorrelation data. This problem occurs in several high-frequency areas where only partial information about an image or signal is available. The remaining difficulties in obtaining a complete analytical solution to the problem and the manner in which those difficulties may be circumvented are also considered
