Abstract
The method to determine the bearings of the three highlights sections of a ship based on a non-typical vector sound intensity array was proposed here. The array consists of 4 sensors that formed a spatial cross and the distances between the sensors can be changed. The bearing of the low frequency noise radiated by the midship and the middle part between the midship and stern is determined by sound intensity vector method. And the bearing of the stern which radiates high frequency noise is determined by time delay estimation method. The two methods based on a same array. The computer simulation proved that this method can effectively distinguish the three sections of the ship.
