Abstract :
An approach to estimate of the trend, over a long time interval, of a given parameter X characterizing the operation of an electrical power system is proposed in this paper. The approach relies on a statistical model and allows to estimate the trend by processing a limited number of values of X measured at instants randomly chosen. The method proposed has been applied to both estimate the customer loads´ profiles and the trend of some parameters providing information on power quality. The comparison between the estimated and the actual trends shows the good performance of the approach proposed.
