Abstract :
We´ve developed novel types of bulk carbon-based nanomaterials for cold cathode applications. Basing on idea of recently synthesized and studied diamond/pyrocarbon nanocomposites with excellent field electron emission properties, which contain a nanocarbon (pyrocarbon) matrix surrounding dielectric particles of nanodiamond powders and nanopores, we designed different types of porous nanocarbon composite materials using numerous kinds of particles to prepare composite structures, such as B4C, B4C/B, HfC, Ti, LaB6, SiO2, BN in cubic and hexagonal forms.
