Abstract
An EMG biofeedback device is presented along with preliminary data on the feasibility for testing this device in a clinical setting. This device deals with relaxation control and contraction of the skeletal muscle. Properly prescribed uses of the device include relaxing muscle spasms and re-educating muscles after a stroke. This second-generation EMG biofeedback device uses a constant-current biphasic stimulus. Excitation of paralyzed muscle by electrical stimulation is an effective means of restoring controllable function, and may provide the patient with a positive psychological attitude
