Abstract
We present a method for predicting the performance of nanoreplicated photonic crystal (PC) label-free biosensor based primarily on the analysis of resonance reflection peaks. To achieve maximum device sensitivity, the `figure of merit´ can be shaped by careful selection of geometrical parameters. The effects of each design factors on the peak wavelength value (PWV), slope of PWV over refractive index, and full width at half maximum of peak were examined. A design guideline considering `figure of merit´ and limitations of fabrication process were presented.
