Abstract
Within this paper the authors introduce the alteration from product oriented market offers towards a solution for customer demands oriented economy. The change in customer demands is answered by the concept of Extended Products (EP). EP are integrated offers of a physical product extended by services during the whole life cycle to provide customer oriented solutions. This new view of offering requires new ways of product conception. Product development processes today focus on the physical product and less on the associated business model respectively the associated services. Nevertheless the products usage needs to be taken into account for development of successful Extended Products. A first idea how to design the product conception for Extended Products is introduced.
