Abstract :
In this paper, we propose construction job-site monitoring system using a mobile. This system based on AR(Augmented Reality) improves general monitoring system by overlaying some information to the real world. It saves time, cost and prevents claims caused by the distance between the job site and the office. It consists of indoor and outdoor environments. In indoor environment, its very hard to detect feature points, so better to use frame markers. In order to improve detection rate and jitter, it uses histogram specification. In outdoor environment, location-based AR using GPS and a gyro sensor has a mismatch between the position displayed and the real position. Unfortunately the integrated compass may be inaccurate at times. Thats why we use natural feature points. To use this system for the mobile, we use FAST(Features from Accelerated Segment Test) comer detection and modified SIFT(Scale Invariant Feature Transform). This system is composed with various functions to be useful at construction sites such as the workers location, drawings, construction materials, a work order and schedule management.
