Abstract :
In this paper, the influence of the width of the cathode electron on the electric field in an undergate structure has been studies. After the design, the electric field is strong enough in front of the carbon nanotube (CNT) cathode with a thick dielectric layer. To increase the emission current from the center region of the CNT-cathode, some empty holes are fabricated on the cathode electrode. Apart from this, an additional electrode is used to focus the electron beam.
