Abstract :
A fully digital high-speed burst modem is proposed. It employs a reverse-modulation scheme for the carrier recovery circuit, and an interpolation scheme with a pulse shape filter for the bit timing recovery circuit, to recover carrier and bit timing with short preamble words. The major parameters of the modem are shown. Computer simulation results show that the demodulator with short preamble words achieves good performance for burst operation with a low carrier slipping rate and a low clock phase jitter
