Abstract :
Summary form only given. Several microsurgery systems that were developed by the author´s group are introduced. They are a bone cutting system for TKA (Total Knee Arthroplasty)/UKA (Unicondylar Knee Arthroplasty), an eye surgery system, and a neurosurgery system. In the bone cutting system, the cutting force and temperature and the cutting tool position and orientation are controlled with high accuracy, taking into consideration the bone microstructure so as not to damage the femur and the tibia tissue. In the eye surgery system, a cannulation was successfully performed in vitreoretinal surgery, in which a 60 micrometer diameter needle was inserted into a 120 micron diameter micro blood vessel located in the eyegrounds. In the neurosurgery system, micro blood vessels with outside and inside diameters of 0.30 mm and 0.25 mm, respectively, were successfully sutured by the newly developed machine. In the system, the base of the eye surgery and the neurosurgery systems is identical, requiring only the simple replacement of the surgical attachments to change the application.
