Abstract :
A microstrip antenna has been designed to work as a tag antenna and be implemented on a biopsy cassette, for RFID application in health care. The proposed antenna has been designed with Momentum ADS and HF Work and fabricated on RO-3006 dielectric substrate with permittivity 6.15. Good radiation characteristics have been achieved at 5.6 GHz, with a measured gain of 2.94 dBi and a return loss of -30 dB. The next step is to build this RFID tag on LTCC (Low-Temperature Co-fired Ceramic) in order to make the tag suitable for harsh environment.
