Abstract :
The stabilization mechanism of the zirconia has several controversial opinions. With the method of hydrothermal, pure zirconia and 5%mol Y2O3 doped zirconia powders are prepared. XRD is used to exam the structure of the nanocrystals and TEM is used to observe the size of zirconia nanocrystals. It is shown that the size of pure zirconia and doped zirconia is above 30nm and below 30nm, respectively. The examples are also analyzed with the XRD from 298K to 1073K simultaneously to observe the variation of the size with the phase transformation.
