Abstract
The prevention of the pressure sore is a serious problem for patients with spinal cord injuries (SCI). Many kinds of pressure-relieving cushions and mattress have been developed to distribute the weight evenly and widely. It is the most important for the medical staffs and SCI patients to select the best mattress for each SCI patient. In this study, we measured the sinking depth of the hand into the mattress and the buttock pressure on the pressure-relieving mattress to evaluate the pressure relieving effect and the softness of the mattress in selecting the mattress for each SCI patient.
