Abstract
A general-purpose computer program is described which is able to simulate the operation of any switched power network, such as converters and rectifiers, as well as fault conditions simulated by the action of switches. The program is also able to simulate induction machines, taking into account saturation phenomena. Examples are presented showing the functioning of a current inverter-fed motor and the establishment of a self-excited regime of an induction generator. The program is based on the description of a network by the sparse tableau approach and the use of a predictor-corrector integration method. The switches are considered ideal ones whenever possible, and a strategy to deal with switching events is developed. The authors also develop a model of the induction machine, adapted to the method of network description used
