Abstract
Some of the architectural options emerging for third-generation land mobile systems and the related teletraffic and performance issues are examined. The concepts of the third-generation systems and the user and system requirements for achieving these systems are presented. Architectural grade of service and performance targets are also discussed. The radio interface and the cellular coverage needed are described
