Abstract :
Different types of silver nanostructures are synthesized via a solvothermal method by reducing silver nitrate with ethylene glycol using poly(vinylpyrrolidone) as an adsorbing agent and adding or without adding sodium chloride to the solution. Scanning electron microscopy and X-ray diffraction spectra have been used to investigate the products. These nanostructures were evaluated as good surface-enhanced Raman scattering substrates using rhodamine 6G molecules. Our results are helpful to understand the SERS mechanism.
