Abstract
Presents a system that selects quasi-automatically the useful images of both coronaries out of a complete angiographic recording session. The useful images are those having a satisfying contrast-agent distribution, corresponding with the same deformations caused by the contractions of the heart muscle, and being recorded from different viewpoints. Using the authors´ system called `AngioView´, cardiologists no longer need to browse manually through the huge number of images while making a diagnosis. Consequently, diagnosing becomes faster and easier. As the selection became possible using the properties of DICOM data archival, AngioView demonstrates some of the advantages that can be obtained using DICOM
