Abstract :
A family of asymmetrical half-bridge converters (AHBC) carrying on DC-DC conversion and having a tapped secondary version is presented. Modified AHBC with a transformer tapping, additional diode and switch at a secondary side keeps its main advantages when it operates under wide input and output voltage ranges. Depending on requirements to the converter the secondary switch can be controlled by input or output voltage level. Experimental results are illustrated for a rectifier 850 W, which second stage has been carried out on base of the tapped version of AHBC
