Abstract
Vertically aligned ZnO nanotubes were prepared by a chemical bath deposition-etching method in aqueous solution. The morphological, photoluminescence, as well as dye adsorption properties of the ZnO nanotubes were examined with respect to the seed layer treatments. The morphology of the products was found to be sensitive to the seed layer and Al3+ ions addition. It was found that ZnO rods without Al3+ ions addition could not be etched into nanotubes. Besides, the optical and adsorption properties of ZnO nanotubes were strongly dependent on the treatment of seed layer.
