Abstract :
The S/DMS transport node SONET Radio 4/40 is a high-capacity digital microwave radio system designed to provide OC-12 (622.08-Mb/s) capacity in two 40-MHz channels within a 4-GHz common carrier band. This paper describes the SONET radio 4/40, design objectives, features and details of system architecture and hardware design. Measurement data from a system technology trial which verified the effectiveness of several multipath fading countermeasure features are presented
