Abstract
The benefits of the PWM rectifier compared to diode rectifiers are outlined for AC motor drive applications. A new software-based space vector control strategy, which can be used to convert a standard U/f-controlled motor inverter to work as a high performance PWM rectifier, is presented. The operation is verified with a series produced industrial inverter
