Abstract :
Technology Transfer (T2) has an extremely high potential for increasing industrial global competitiveness and increasing wealth. However there are many obstacles along the way. Department of Defense technology was developed to solve military problems. It is not easy to convert technology that was developed to solve military problems into commercial applications. The Air Force laboratories, such as Wright Laboratory, have been world-class in solving a broad range of technical problems. The highly sophisticated technology represents the best research in the world in many technical disciplines. Wright Laboratory, as well as other Air Force laboratories, have some of the most highly educated and experienced scientists in the world. Those scientists represent an unmatched resource for research of new technology. Wright Technology Network has learned many lessons of how to be effective in T2. It is harder than it looks!
